The projects of Tennis for Africa

We are committed on two initiatives:

HUMANITARIAN CORRIDORS PROVIDED BY THE COMMUNITY OF SANT'EGIDIO

Thei is a pilot project managed by the Community Comunità di Sant'Egidio in collaboration with the Federation of Evangelical Churches and the Waldensian and Methodist Churches, completely self-funded. The project opens new ways to safety for refugees, to avoid the journeys of death.

Tennis for Africa promoted an agreement between Roma Cares and the Community of Sant'Egidio to finance the corridors through the charity event TENNIS WITH STARS in 2016. The event was attended by: Kuzmanovic, Florenzi, Fognini, Strootman, Dzeko, Lorenzi, Cecchinato, Seppi, El Shaarawy, Volandri, Totti, Pjanic, De Rossi, Kyrgios, Vinci e Schiavone.

DEVELOPING SPORT PROJECT IN TANZANIA

Tennis for Africa has been developing social initiatives in Dar Es Salaam for many years to support an increasing number of street children and vulnerable families through the promotion of sport.

Our initiatives:

THE COOPERATION WITH TENNIS CLUB LOMBARDO

The collaboration was born in 2016 and immediately became concrete with a series of interesting initiatives held at the club, including the event #WeAreTCL

TENNIS FOR AFRICA AND THE EU INTERPARLIAMENTARY TENNIS TOURNAMENTS

Thanks to the collaboration of the national tennis team of Italian parliamentarians, Tennis for Africa has been carrying out social promotional activities for Africa for years as part of the annual European tournament, which gathers the membership of many Countries, including: Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, England , Finland, Hungary, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine. Significant events were organized in Rome and Milan between 2009 and 2010.

TENNIS FOR AFRICA AND DUE PONTI SPORTING CLUB

Tennis for Africa feels obliged to the Due Ponti Sporting Club. The collaboration started in 1997, where the then vice president of the association, Lorenzo Turchi, met the brothers Emanuele and Pietro Tornabuoni, owners of the club, to start a charity event that over the years it became significant in the capital as a preview of the Internazionali d'Italia: the tennis stars' trainings open to the spectators. 6 successful editions took place between 1998 and 2002. In the following years further initiatives followed at the club, among which "A Record for the Solidarity" in 2013 and the fundraising at the Challenger every September.
