Lorenzo Sonego ambassador of Tennis for Africa

It is with great pride that we announce the birth of a new collaboration with the Italian player Lorenzo Sonego. He will be ambassador and testmonial of our association, and as a tangible sign he donated his racket to be auctioned on ebay; the proceeds will be donated to finance international travel expenses for an African boy who will arrive in Italy at the end of June to participate in a 15-day stage offered by the Riccardo Piatti Academy.

Sonego has won two singles titles out of four finals played and boasts the 21st position as best ranking, reached on 4 October 2021 and 14 February 2022.

In the Grand Slam tournaments he reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros in 2020 and at Wimbledon in 2021. In 2020, at the ATP 500 in Vienna, he beat world no.1 Novak Đoković, inflicting him the worst defeat in his career (6- 2, 6-1) in an ATP match played to the best of three sets. The player is coached by Gipo Arbino.
