MANY STARS AT TENNIS DAY FOR AFRICA

Juan Carlos Ferrero, Pete Sampras, Tim Henman, Thomas Johansson, Mark Philippoussis, Davide Sanguinetti, Alex Corretja, Andy Roddick, Albert Costa, Hicham Arazi, James Blake, Xavier Malisse, Fabrice Santoro and the brothers Bryan were the participants at the traditional tennis charity event in Rome last May 2002.

Some Italian celebrities attended the event for promoting the humanitarian activity of the Association, in particular the Italian actress Sabrina Ferilli, Adriana Volpe,  the former tv Italian reporter Piero Marrazzo

2nd section  of TENNIS DAY FOR AFRICA with WTA players

12 May 2002

Kim Clijsters and Anna Kournikova were the stars of the traditional
charity day in Rome last May 12. With the presence of many spectators
Clijsters and Kournikova played their practice in different tennis
courts with male sparring-partners. In the other courts Silvia Farina
from Italy, n. 12 of WTA ranking, Tathiana Garbin - ITA, Conchita
Martinez
- ESP, Jana Kandarr GER and many others top ranking players
played their practice with some exhibition sets. In a shiny day the
diplomatic representatives from Cameroun, Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, South
Africa and Zimbabwe attended the event.
