3rd TENNIS DAY FOR AFRICA


Charity Event endorced by Tennis Master Series Roma 2000
and ATP Tour

Rome May 6 2000

Numerous fans attended to the Tennis Day for Africa for Agassi at Due Ponti Sporting Club in Rome - Italy. The charity event had the important confirm of important players like Lapentti, Rios, Santoro, Tieleman, Furlan, Brandi, Bartolini, W. Ferreira, Schalken, Galbraith, Mac Phie and others.

During the event many autographed items donated by the players were collected by Tennis for Africa. The launch of the charity auction was supported by ATP Tour and the tournament organization of the  "TENNIS MASTERS SERIES ROMA 2000"

More than  7.000 US $ were collected for the purchase of medical equipment for the Hospital Sant'Egidio - Raoul Follerau in Guinea Bissau. The fund raising was also organized during the two weeks of the tournaments through charity initiatives on the Vip Village located closed to the tournament site.

The fund raising was moreover reinforced by Tennis Italiano magazine through  the donation of huge number of racquets and by the sponsors.
